Syrian leader says he faces war with Israel

Syrian President Ahmed al-Shar'i expressed his reaction to the attacks on the country and the clashes with the Druze.

He asserted that the Syrian people will be able to defeat Israel's attempts to divide the land of Syria.

"We were faced with the choice of going to war with Israel or allowing the Druze elders to make a deal, and we chose to defend our homeland. There is no place for other people's goals in our country," the politician said.

Ahmed al-Shar added that the efforts of the United States, Arab states, and Turkey have prevented the situation from escalating further.
