"Smart" rescue drone to be used for the first time during Hajj season
First "smart" rescue drone to be deployed during Hajj
Saudi Arabia will use a firefighting and rescue drone called Falcon for the first time during this year's Hajj season, Arab News reported.
The drone, equipped with artificial intelligence, is designed to carry out firefighting and rescue operations in high mountains or more remote areas. It can fly at high altitudes for up to 12 hours and carry a load of about 40 kilograms.
Drones also provide the ability to broadcast live from the scene of an incident. Its main advantages are rapid response, reduced risk to personnel, and the ability to make decisions through real-time footage.
We previously reported that more than one million foreign pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj season. 53 percent of those who came for Hajj are men and 47 percent are women.
