Saudi prince says alcohol will not be sold at World Cup

Earlier, the International Football Federation (FIFA) Congress approved Saudi Arabia as the host of the 2034 World Cup.

Based on this, Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al-Saud emphasized that guests attending the tournament should respect the culture of the Persian Gulf state and that alcohol will not be sold during the competition, even inside hotels.

"We don't allow alcohol. You can have a great time without drinking alcohol. If you want to drink after the tournament, that's fine, but we don't have any alcohol at the moment," Prince Bandar Al-Saud was quoted as saying by British radio station LBC.

The prince also responded to a question about the possibility of LGBT fans attending the World Cup, saying that "the competition is a world-class tournament, and the authorities are ready to welcome everyone who wants to come to the country, as much as possible."
