Saudi Arabia plans to build the world's tallest skyscraper
A giant skyscraper called "The Rise Tower" is planned to be built in Saudi Arabia, with a height of 2,000 meters, Dzen.ru reported.
The structure is said to be twice as tall as Dubai's 828-meter Burj Khalifa and much taller than the still-planned Jeddah Tower (1,000 meters). The project is estimated to cost $5 billion .
The 678-story tower is the centerpiece of Saudi Arabia's "North Pole" mega-project. It was designed by the famous Foster + Partners firm. Official bids for the construction are being accepted from international companies, the report said.
As it turned out, The Rise Tower will become a global tourism and business center of Saudi Arabia as part of the "Vision 2030" program. The building will house luxury hotels, entertainment centers, restaurants and other services.
The project's authors claim that the "North Pole" project will be built on an area of 300 square kilometers and will be equipped with a modern transportation system, a high-speed metro, and a system of autonomous cars.
For reference, Saudi Arabia has paid special attention to environmental sustainability in recent years, launching futuristic projects such as "The Line" and "Aquellum".
