42 years ago, a great massacre was committed in Sabra and Shatila camps of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

On September 16-18, 1982, the Lebanese Christian Phalangists, in cooperation with the Zionists, organized massacres in these camps, resulting in the brutal killing of about 3,500 Palestinians, mostly women, children, and the elderly.

The assassination of Bashir Jmayel, the leader of the Christian nationalist party "Lebanese Phalanx" ("Kataib"), who had just been elected president, became a pretext for the Israeli army under the leadership of Ariel Sharon, who occupied Lebanon, to carry out this genocide.

The 42nd anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre coincided with the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Unlike in the past, today we can observe that Israel's brutal policy continues and the public's attitude towards it has changed significantly.

Since "Nakba" (Arabic "Day of Disaster") - the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 and the subsequent expulsion of more than 700 thousand Palestinians from their land, the massacres and ethnic cleansing carried out by the Zionists have been organized serially, based on a certain plan.

In the same year, the war that led to the establishment of the State of Israel also took place, as well as the Tantura massacre, in which about 200 villagers were killed, and the Deir Yassin massacre, in which more than a hundred Palestinians were killed.

The Israeli army continued the same policy in Palestine and other Arab countries after 1948. This ranged from the 1970 bombing of the Bahr al-Baqar school in Egypt to the 1996 Qana massacre in Lebanon.

Since 2005, Israel has been committing a number of war crimes in the Gaza Strip. After the Zionists withdrew from Gaza, they besieged the sector and launched five major attacks that claimed thousands of lives.

Now, the invaders, who have gone unpunished by the international community despite their long history of atrocities, are increasingly overreaching, killing tens of thousands of Palestinians, including those who have taken refuge in "safe zones" such as hospitals or UN-run schools.

Palestinians who have been left out of the world's attention

The scope of Israel's war against Muslims has expanded over the years, becoming increasingly brutal. The reason for this is the racist nature of the Zionist ideology.

In today's Israel, the idea that the "Jews are a superior race" has become a fundamental principle. Following the October 7 Hamas attack, senior Israeli officials made numerous racist statements. In particular, Defense Minister Yoav Galant's call to Palestinians as "humanoid animals" revealed their true colors.

Unfortunately, this racist, fascist state has international supporters. Despite the fact that the number of Palestinian victims exceeds 41 thousand, Western countries continue to support Israel with weapons and other financial means.

At the same time, the governments of Muslim-majority countries are only verbally condemning these blatant crimes against humanity. And some shamelessly continue political and economic ties with Israel as if nothing happened.

After nearly a year of war in Gaza, Israel continues to kill as many Palestinians as it wants and destroy many homes, buildings and hospitals in the area, with no serious international efforts to stop the massive bloodshed.

On September 24, 1982, after the details of the Sabra and Shatila massacre became known, protests led by the Israeli opposition were held in Tel Aviv. About 400,000 protesters demand the government to investigate war crimes in Lebanon. The protest movement forces the government to form the Kahan Commission and, after investigations, to dismiss Ariel Sharon as defense minister.

Today, unlike before, Israeli politicians, journalists and ordinary citizens openly support the state's genocidal actions. Only the protesters are calling on the government to sign a deal to release hostages held by the Hamas resistance movement.

History has proven time and time again that Israel's brutality against the Palestinian people does not go unpunished.

The more brutal the occupation policy becomes, the more it signals that its end is near. In addition, Israel is a state based on the idea of "morality", and the massacres in Gaza completely destroyed this idea. And the ongoing crimes of the occupiers against the Palestinians make Israel the main threat to the entire region.
