Israel's Health Ministry has reportedly ordered hospitals in the north of the country to prepare to accommodate thousands of wounded as tensions with Hezbollah escalate in Lebanon. Anadolu reported about this with reference to Israel's KAN TV channel.

According to reports, the Ministry of Health has instructed Ziv Hospital in Safed and Galilee Medical Center in the northern city of Nehariya to prepare for "desert island mode", meaning the possibility of going without medical supplies, medicine and food for several days. Hospitals in the north have also been asked to go into emergency mode within hours, and have been ordered to maintain 50 percent occupancy if necessary to ensure that only bomb shelters receive the wounded.

Israel is also preparing for a situation where medical personnel are injured or forced to join the reserve service, offering substitute doctors from abroad. It is noted that there are approximately 7,000 Jewish doctors in various parts of the world who have "volunteered their desire to help Israel" and are asked to come to Israel for help if needed.

For information, after Israel killed the deputy head of the political bureau of Hamas, Saleh al-Aruri, on January 2, in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and on January 8, one of the high-ranking commanders of Hezbollah, Wisam Hasan Tawil, the clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah intensified.
