Russia to introduce digital profiles of migrants

Asia-Plus reports that digital profiles of migrants will be introduced in Russia starting June 30. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced this in his report to the State Duma.

According to the head of government, an experiment is being conducted in the country to strictly control the entry and exit of foreigners starting from December 1, 2024.

In particular, foreigners are required to undergo mandatory biometric registration when crossing the border at Moscow airports. This system allows for the early identification of individuals who are prohibited from entering the country.

Since February 2025, a state service has been launched to control foreigners living illegally in Russia, which currently includes more than 640,000 migrants. They are required to legalize their status by April 30.
