Palestinian resistance movement asks Turkey for help
Ismail Abdullatif al-Ashkar, a member of parliament from the Palestinian resistance movement HAMAS, wrote a letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"You know very well how Gaza, a city of honor and dignity, has fallen into this situation," the letter says.
"Even in our worst dreams, we could not have imagined that we would witness such betrayal by our own children, our neighbors, our brothers. We are left in inhuman isolation, as if we were living on another planet. The suffering, anguish, and atrocities we are experiencing have reached an indescribable level. Our hearts can no longer bear to see our children starving to death before our eyes, their tiny bodies being torn apart.
Dear President, we know that we are entrusting you with a great responsibility. The burden of the Ummah is heavy. But the reason we are appealing to you is because we believe in your justice, your defense of the oppressed, and your commitment to the Palestinian cause.
Mr. President, my people are suffering from hunger. People are fainting in the streets. The explosions do not stop for a moment. F-35s are taking our children, destroying our wounded, and erasing the last traces of life. In addition to death, hunger surrounds us on all sides. From the center of this great disaster, we appeal to you:
Please intervene. Reach out before it's too late. Hurry to help the children of Gaza, who are starving in an age of plenty.
"Whoever helps his brother, Allah will help him," Ismail Abdullatif al-Ashkar said in his address to Erdogan.
