Muslim man killed by Hindu mob in India

In the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, 55-year-old Muslim Muhammad Sharif was killed by a group of radical Hindus who brutally beat him up for refusing to participate in the celebration of the Hindu festival of Holi.

The murder occurred on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, when Sharif was on his way to the market to shop.

According to the deceased's son-in-law, Muhammad Minaja, a group of children initially tried to paint Sharif, but he refused. Soon, adults intervened and began beating him.

The victim's family has filed a complaint against four Hindus, but the police are trying to portray the incident as a heart attack.
