A court in the Indian state of Karnataka dismissed the criminal case against two radical Hindus who chanted the Hindu slogan "Jai Shri Ram" inside a mosque, reports Islam News, citing NDTV.

The bench headed by Justice M. Nagaprasana, which heard the accused's appeal, said in its verdict that it did not find that the phrase "Jai Shri Ram" (glorification of the pagan deity) even if uttered in a mosque, hurt the religious sentiments of anyone.

The accused were charged under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to trespass, intimidation and insulting religious sentiments. Police confirmed during the court proceedings that the accused stormed the mosque in the evening, behaved belligerently and shouted Hindu religious slogans.

However, the Karnataka court in its judgment "found" that such behavior was not against the applicable law and did not hurt the sentiments of worshipers who came to the mosque to pray.
