Israel offered to stop its attacks on the Gaza Strip for 2 months in exchange for the release of all prisoners held by Hamas. However, Hamas rejected this offer. Earlier, the movement also refused the request of Russia to release citizens of the Russian Federation.

The Axios website offered Israel to stop attacks on Gaza within two months in exchange for the release of all prisoners under its control.

According to the publication, Israel conveyed this proposal, which did not include a complete ceasefire in Gaza, through Qatar and Egypt. According to the proposal, women, men over 60 and hostages in critical condition should be released first. Female servicemen and civilian men under the age of 60 will be transferred in the next stages.

However, Hamas rejected the offer, AP reported, citing a senior Egyptian official.

Earlier, Yeni Shafak reported that the deputy chairman of the Hamas political bureau, Musa Abu Marzouk, said that the movement did not intend to comply with Russia's request to release all its citizens held captive in Gaza.

"We didn't arrest people because they were Russian or French. We captured them because they were killing Palestinians and because they were Israeli soldiers," said Musa Abu Marzouk.

He also noted that "the majority of Israeli soldiers have dual citizenship."

According to the Israeli army, there are currently 136 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
