Israeli security cabinet approves plan for "complete occupation of Gaza"

The Israeli military-political cabinet has approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to capture Gaza City, The Times of Israel reports.

It is noted that before the meeting, Netanyahu stated that Israel wants to take control of the entire Gaza Strip in order to defeat Hamas. According to him, Israel aims to "eliminate Hamas" from Gaza before handing over the territory to "a civilian administration that is not Hamas and does not aim to destroy Israel."

The Security Cabinet resolution includes "five principles for ending the war," the BBC reported.

These are:

1. Disarm Hamas;
2. Release all hostages;
3. Complete disarmament of Gaza;
4. Establishing full control of the occupying Israeli army over Gaza;
5. Establish an alternative civilian administration in Gaza that is not affiliated with Hamas or the rule of Mahmoud Abbas.
