Israeli* massacre in Gaza: most of those burned are children

Videos circulating online show charred bodies, many of them children, and people crying for help in the flames.

Two Israeli airstrikes on Monday morning targeted shelters and homes in Gaza City and Jabalia in northern Gaza, killing at least 49 Palestinians.

Medical sources told Anadolu Agency that the death toll from the airstrike on the Fahmi al-Jirjawi school, which was serving as a shelter for displaced people in the al-Daraj district of Gaza City, has reached 30.

Al-Aqsa TV and other local sources reported that tents caught fire after the explosion.

Videos recorded by witnesses and circulated online showed the charred bodies of many children and people calling for help in the burning environment.

"Burnt bodies and the cries of displaced citizens trapped in the fire were seen and heard at the scene," one report said.

The Israeli military confirmed the attack and claimed in a statement that Hamas had turned the shelter into a "command and control center." However, it did not provide any evidence to support this claim.

Meanwhile, another airstrike on a house in the northern Gaza town of Jabalia killed 19 people and injured others, a medical source reported.
