Israel preliminarily approves ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah — media

Israel has tentatively approved a cease-fire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to the 60-day truce, the Israeli military will leave southern Lebanon, and Hezbollah will move its heavy weapons north of the Litani River.

Israel has preliminarily approved a cease-fire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon, CNN reports.

It was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supported the agreement "in general". At the same time, Israel is expected to deliver its demands regarding some details of the agreement to the Lebanese representatives on November 25.

The agreement must also be approved by the Israeli Cabinet.

According to Ynet publication, on the day of Israel's discussion of the cease-fire agreement, rocket attacks by Hezbollah, which fired more than 255 shells at Israel yesterday, coincided with an increase. According to the publication, the US special envoy to the Middle East, Amos Hochstein, informed Lebanon that Israel agreed to a ceasefire. At the same time, he told both sides that the US would not participate as a mediator in the negotiations if no agreement was reached.

According to Axios, the draft agreement includes a 60-day transition period during which Israeli troops must withdraw from southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army will be deployed in areas near the border, and Hezbollah will move its heavy weapons north of the Litani River. It is also planned to establish a committee led by the United States to monitor the implementation of the initiative.
