Israel is using the sound of women and babies crying to exterminate Gazans
Israel is using recordings of crying women and babies to bring Palestinians to the streets and make them easy targets. They shoot and kill those who try to find out where the voice is coming from and help. They are also using other sounds to frighten civilians and cause mental suffering.
As part of the ongoing genocide that began on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military is using disturbing new methods to intimidate, lure and target civilians in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Testimonies from camp residents given to the Euro-Med monitoring group confirm that women's screams and babies' cries were heard during the night on Sunday and Monday. When some Gazans tried to find where the voice was coming from and help, they were fired upon by Israeli quadcopters. The sounds they hear are actually coming from Israeli drones and are being spread deliberately to make the camp's residents targets for snipers and other weapons.
According to witnesses, this technique included gunshots, gunfights, explosions, the movement of military equipment, and sometimes singing in Hebrew and Arabic, in order to psychologically frighten the civilians, who lived in complete darkness at night and were completely cut off from the outside world.
"We were sitting at night and we heard girls and women shouting: 'Come, help me, I'm injured.' No woman was found, but we were directly targeted by the quadcopter," a 20-year-old camp resident, who asked to remain anonymous for security reasons, told the Euro-MedMonitor team.
According to him, he ran inside, but the two people next to him were seriously injured.
A 60-year-old woman said she heard loud gunshots, and then the women were miserable she told people that she screamed, told people that her children were injured and asked for help.
"The sound lasted for about 10-15 minutes, but none of us went out because it was too late and I knew it was the sounds coming from the planes," he continued.
This method of psychological intimidation comes at a time when Israel is launching a brutal attack on Gaza using military helicopters, airplanes and drones, and artillery. Attacks are indiscriminate, violent and continuous in different parts of Nusayrat camp, resulting in many civilian casualties, including women and children.
The Israeli army is randomly and systematically targeting any resident of the Nusayrat camp who is simply walking on the street or looking out of the window, as well as some civilians who try to move between shelter centers and homes or learn what is happening in the area.
In light of the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, Euro-MedMonitor warns that the immoral and inhumane methods of the Israeli army against civilians are increasing day by day and are causing serious psychological and physical harm.
According to international human rights law, the Israeli army's extrajudicial killing of Palestinian civilians, whether by snipers or directly, violates the Palestinian right to life. These actions are violations of the Geneva Conventions, as well as war crimes and crimes against humanity under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. These crimes themselves are a major component of Israel's ongoing genocide against the people of the Gaza Strip.
