Islamic scholars around the world call on leaders of Muslim countries to sever ties with Israel
The World Union of Islamic Scholars has sent an open letter to participants in the Doha summit, calling on Muslim countries to quickly sever ties with Israel, support the Palestinian resistance movement, and ensure the strategic unity of the Muslim world.
The letter expresses deep concern for the fate of the Muslim Ummah and condemns Israel's policies, which the authors of the letter call an existential threat to the entire Islamic world. According to the organization, the events in Gaza are not only a regional conflict, but also a struggle for the existence and independence of Muslim nations.
The open letter includes eight main demands to the leaders of Muslim countries:
Severing relations with the occupying Israel means immediately ceasing political, economic, and diplomatic ties; because the Zionist regime does not abide by the agreements.
Spiritual revival and repentance - a call for Muslims to turn to Allah Almighty and strengthen their inner faith, while developing material and military resources.
Unity and brotherhood - overcoming differences and uniting the Muslim world on the basis of sincerity and mutual assistance.
Strategic development - developing a comprehensive plan to strengthen Islamic states politically, militarily, scientifically, and economically.
Being aware of the danger is recognizing that Israel does not want to grant any rights to the Palestinians and is implementing the "Greater Israel" project.
Open support for the Palestinians fighting for the freedom of their homeland, including the armed struggle against the occupation.
Lift the blockade of Gaza - immediately open the border crossings and apply pressure to stop the massacre of civilians.
International solidarity – calling on the world community to expose Israeli crimes and actively oppose them at the political and legal levels.
In the final part of the letter, the scholars warned that the Islamic world today faces a great choice:
"Either we become a free and dignified nation or - God forbid - we succumb to the Zionist project of occupation and evil."
