Iran wants to join defense pact between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan

Lieutenant General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the chief military advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, said that the Persian state should also join the defense pact concluded between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

"We are positive about this agreement. Pakistan has said that other countries can join it, and I call on Iran to join this agreement. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iraq can sign a collective agreement together. Even if Saudi Arabia and Pakistan do not sign such an agreement without the consent of the United States, we as a regional country should make our will known," Safavi said.

For your information, the agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan on September 17 provides for a joint response to any aggression against either country.
