Invading Israel plans to mobilize over a hundred thousand soldiers to attack Gaza

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has approved a plan to attack Gaza City. It is expected that about 60,000 more reservists will be called up for the operation, dubbed "Gideon's Chariots." The IDF said that "an order was issued to call up reservists" on the morning of August 20.

The Times of Israel reports that the draft will be carried out in several stages. The majority of them - about 40,000-50,000 - are scheduled to report for service on September 2. The next wave of drafts will take place in November-December, and the third in February-March 2026.

The IDF also announced that it is extending the reserve service period for the approximately 20,000 reservists currently serving by another 30-40 days. This would bring the total number of reservists serving at any one time during an attack to approximately 130,000.
