In Iran, the punishment for women who violate the Islamic dress code has been increased

Iran's president is about to sign a law banning women from uncovering not only their hair, but also their wrists and necks. Violators and those who criticize the new law will be fined up to 155 euros. Taxi drivers or apartment complex managers who do not report this may be fined even more.

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian is about to sign a law banning women from wearing clothes contrary to Islamic law. This is reported by Iran News Update. The new rules not only prohibit showing hair, but also mandate covering the neck, wrists or ankles.

For the first violation, the woman will pay a fine of 155 euros. If the violation is repeated, the fine can increase significantly.

Criticism or protest against the fine imposes an additional penalty, according to which the violator must pay up to 155 euros. It is compulsory to wear a headscarf from the age of 9. If a minor girl violates the law, the parents will be held responsible and "educational measures" will be taken against the girl.

Taxi drivers are required to report violations, and apartment complex managers are required to report videos of women without hijabs to the appropriate authorities. Those who do not fulfill this obligation will pay a fine of up to 339 euros.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also applies punishments that are not provided for by law. For example, recently Iranian activist Masih Alinejad was beaten 74 times for walking naked on the street.
