"I wish I was on your side." The words of a freed Israeli prisoner surprised many

Alexander Turbonov, a Jew who was captured by the Palestinian resistance and later released, has made a startling statement about his experiences in captivity. He acknowledged the kindness shown to him during the 498-day siege he spent with the Palestinians.

"You showed me the kindness that a father would show to his children. That will remain in my memory forever," he said with tears in his eyes.

This statement, while surprising the occupying Israeli authorities, also sparked various controversies. In particular, Turbonov's words about his desire to return and join the Palestinians fighting for their freedom angered some brutal Zionist officials.
