Hunger in Gaza: More than 2.4 million people at risk
Palestinian officials have appealed to the international community to immediately open a humanitarian corridor , Anadolu Agency reports.
The official statement noted that the implementation of this measure could save the lives of more than 2.4 million Palestinians.
The statement said the Gaza government accused Israel and its proxies of "committing genocidal crimes proven by audio and video evidence."
"The complete blockade and closure of checkpoints imposed by the Zionists, which has been in place for 55 days, has led to widespread famine. This disaster is currently threatening the lives of more than 2.4 million people. The situation is getting worse," the statement said.
According to official figures, 52 Palestinians, 50 of whom were children, have died from starvation and malnutrition during the 55-day blockade, which the Gaza government has called "one of the most horrific forms of slow killing."
According to figures, more than 60,000 children currently suffer from acute malnutrition, and more than 1 million children experience hunger every day. This negatively affects their overall physical condition.
Gazans called on the international community to break with their silence and immediately end this humanitarian crisis.
