A new threat for Gaza's children

The Israeli army has suspended mass vaccination of children against polio in Gaza, the Gaza Health Ministry reports.

The vaccination campaign, which is aimed at more than 600,000 children, is not being carried out due to the general Israeli blockade that has been in place since March.

The Ministry of Health warns that the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip is on the verge of collapse.

It has been noted that due to the lack of vaccinations, Gaza is at high risk of polio outbreaks and a catastrophic increase in child mortality as a result.
