Hamas agrees to release hostages

The Palestinian Hamas movement has announced its readiness to release all living Israeli hostages and hand over the bodies of those killed in accordance with US President Donald Trump's plan.

According to Al Jazeera, Hamas has expressed its readiness to immediately begin negotiations through mediators to discuss this in detail.

At the same time, Hamas's deputy political bureau chief, Musa Abu Marzuk, stressed that under the current circumstances, it is impossible to release the hostages and hand over the bodies within 72 hours.

It is noted that other issues included in the Trump plan concern the future of the enclave and the inalienable rights of the Palestinians. These topics are planned to be discussed within the framework of a pan-Palestinian structure that includes Hamas.

The deputy head of the political bureau stressed that the movement agreed in principle to Trump's plan, but that specific points needed to be discussed. According to him, Hamas would hand over weapons to the "future Palestinian government."
