The European Union agreed on an additional aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros from its budget.
The European Union agreed on an additional aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros from its budget. The President of the Council of Europe Charles `` Michel '' X announced this on the social network.
"We reached an agreement. All 27 leaders agreed on an additional aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros within the EU budget. This will ensure stable, long-term and predictable financing for Ukraine," he said.
Michel emphasized that the European Union takes leadership and responsibility in supporting Ukraine. "We know what's at stake," he added.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in turn, thanked Charles Michel and EU leaders "for Ukraine Facility, a financial instrument of up to 50 billion euros for 2024-2027."
"It is very important that this decision was taken by all 27 leaders. This once again proves the powerful unity of the European Union. "Continuing EU financial assistance to Ukraine will strengthen our long-term economic and financial stability, which is no less than military aid and sanctions pressure on Russia," the head of state wrote on the social network.
