OUAGADUGOU, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of Muslims were killed in an attack on a mosque in eastern Burkina Faso on Sunday. This was announced by the country's Federation of Islamic Associations in a statement released on Monday.
At least 14 Muslim worshipers were killed in an attack on a mosque in Natiaboani district on Sunday, two of whom died in hospital, the statement said.
According to a local source, the military and Homeland Defense volunteers were also victims of the attack.
On the same day, at least 15 more people were killed in an attack on a Catholic church in the village of Essakane in the Sahel region of northern Burkina Faso, a church spokesman said.
