Chinese leader: Beijing is ready to develop cooperation with Iran under any conditions
China will consistently develop friendly cooperation with Iran regardless of the changes in the international and regional situation. The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping , said this at the meeting with the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian , within the framework of the 16th BRICS summit, which is being held in Kazan , reports the press service of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Iran is a country with important regional and international influence, a good friend and partner of China, the Chinese leader said.
According to him, the strategic importance of Sino-Iranian relations is evident as the unprecedented changes accelerate.
Beijing supports Iran in protecting national sovereignty, security and national dignity, consistently promoting its socio-economic development, and improving and deepening good-neighborly and friendly relations with neighboring countries, Xi Jinping said .
He noted that China is ready to cooperate with Iran to strictly support each other, to uphold the basic norms of international relations, including non-interference in internal affairs, and to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the two countries.
China is ready to strengthen cooperation with Iran within the framework of BRICS and other multilateral structures, strengthen the influence and voice of the Global South, and contribute to the formation of a fairer and more rational international order, the Chinese leader added.
Regional issues were also discussed at the meeting. Xi Jinping expressed deep concern about the current situation, particularly in the Middle East.
He stressed that an early ceasefire and an end to the war in the Gaza Strip are key to de-escalating regional tensions.
Iranian President Pezeshkian, for his part, said that China is Iran's most important cooperation partner, and Iran-China comprehensive strategic partnership relations and bilateral cooperation in various fields are maintaining the dynamics of stable development.
Iran is committed to making joint efforts with China to implement a comprehensive cooperation plan with China and deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of communications, infrastructure and clean energy to achieve new results, which will not only contribute to Iran's national development, but also to strengthen peace and stability in the region . , - he said.
