Another Islamic scholar killed in Pakistan

Mufti Abdul Baqi Noorzai, a senior leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), was shot dead by unknown gunmen at the airport in Quetta, Pakistan, last night.

The attackers fled the scene immediately, and local police have launched an investigation into the attack. Local residents say there has been a surge in assassinations of Islamic scholars in Pakistan in recent months.
