Brown University, the oldest and most prestigious university in the US, has made a deal with anti-war activists to accommodate pro-Palestinian students.

Under the agreement, no student, faculty member, graduate student, or graduate student will be punished, dismissed, or expelled for participating in a pro-Palestinian tent camp.

University officials have promised to listen to students on the issue of "refusal of Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories." The deal involves five pro-Palestinian students discussing divestment from companies that support the Israeli occupation.

University President Christina Paxson asked the university's Resource Management Advisory Committee for recommendations by September 30, 2024, to divest companies that support the Israeli occupation. The received recommendations, in turn, will be voted on in October 2024.

It should be noted that in more than 50 major universities of the USA, students supporting Palestine organized demonstrations. In the last 2 weeks, the police have arrested more than 1,000 students, as well as several teachers.
