Afghanistan to send 30,000 pilgrims to Hajj this year

This year, 30,000 Afghans will travel to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage. The first caravan of 230 pilgrims has already left for Medina.


According to the Afghan Ministry of Hajj and Endowments, the transportation of pilgrims will be carried out on 97 special flights over a period of one month and two days.


The Afghan government emphasizes that it is taking all measures to ensure security, order, and a high level of service for pilgrims throughout their journey.


In particular, special Hajj coordination centers have been established in various regions to improve the organizational work and logistics of pilgrims. The cost of the Hajj pilgrimage has been set at 3,924 US dollars per pilgrim.


For information, Saudi Arabia allocated quotas for the Central Asian countries of Uzbekistan - 15 thousand, Tajikistan - 7 thousand, Kazakhstan - 4.5 thousand, Kyrgyzstan - 6.06 thousand in 2025. It is unknown how much was allocated to Turkmenistan.
