Afghanistan supplies Russia with pomegranates and juice

Economic ties between Russia and Afghanistan have begun to intensify after the Russian Supreme Court temporarily lifted the ban on the Taliban movement's activities in the country.

Afghanistan plans to increase supplies of pomegranates, raisins, juice, and hand-woven carpets to Russia. The country is also considering exporting wool and cotton products.

According to Mash, trade between the two countries may exceed $3 billion in the near future.

For your information, starting in 2022 — after a 30-year hiatus — Afghanistan will resume selling Kandahar pomegranates to Russia. Russia, in turn, supplies Afghanistan with petroleum products, gas, and wheat.
