A new test: Where will Gazans, displaced by war, return to?

Under the ceasefire agreement signed between Israel and Hamas, displaced Palestinians will be allowed to return to their homes. Nearly 90 percent of Gaza's population has been displaced, many of whom have been forced to move several times since the war began. But where will they return to?

At least 60 percent of all buildings in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed, many neighborhoods have already been bombed, and existing pre-war systems, such as sewage and electricity, have been completely disabled.

It is estimated that it will take at least ten years to clear the 42 million tons of rubble in Gaza.

According to UN data, half of Gaza's 36 hospitals are currently partially operational; 88 percent of schools have been damaged or destroyed; 92 percent of homes have been destroyed, and 68 percent of agricultural land has been rendered unusable.

This suggests that major challenges lie ahead in rebuilding Gaza, and new challenges await its residents.
