A new order is being established in the Middle East - political analyst
Russian political analyst Maxim Shevchenko believes that new players are emerging in the Middle East, which is a sign that Netanyahu's dream of a "Greater Israel" is fading.
A Gaza summit is currently being held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The aim of the meeting is to determine a post-war political order based on the Trump plan.
Key points of the plan:
1. The war will cease immediately upon the consent of the Israeli government. Israel has consented to this.
2. Unhindered access of humanitarian aid to Gaza. This process has also begun.
3. The Israeli army withdraws from the Gaza Strip, and Hamas releases the hostages (living and dead). All hostages have been returned.
4. Israel will then release a pre-agreed list of Palestinian prisoners: 250 serving life sentences and 1,700 held in Gaza. However, two individuals will not be released: Marwan Barghouti, a Fatah activist and potential successor to Abbas, and Ahmed Saadat, commander of Hamas's Nuhba branch.
5. Peacekeeping forces (military contingent) from the United States, Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar will be deployed to Gaza.
Without a doubt, this agreement is a strategic defeat for Israel:
First, Benjamin Netanyahu's government was unable to annex Gaza or expel the Palestinians from there - thus, the dream of a "Greater Israel" was shattered.
Second, new players are emerging in the post-war order, pushing Israel aside and increasing their influence. While the Palestinian issue was previously seen as an "internal affair" of Israel, Qatar and Turkey are now actively involved in this issue. (https://t.me/stratfocusmena/1861)
