Daud Kim, a popular Korean pop singer and YouTuber who converted to Islam, was able to quickly build a mosque in Incheon, South Korea in 2019 despite opposition from Islamophobic locals.
The K-pop artist known as Jay Kim took to social media to announce the opening of a mosque on Eongjeon Island, talking about the construction process and introducing the team that helped make his dream come true, IslamNews reports.
“Thank God, I finally did. I built the house of God with your help. I know a lot of people are worried about that. But I will never give up my dream of a mosque. Thank you,” he wrote.
In early April, Dowd Kim informed his followers about his plans to build a mosque on a plot of land he bought in Incheon for $136,500. Despite his good intentions, Kim faced serious opposition from the local population, but this did not stop him from carrying out his plan.
