In order to provide convenience to the elderly and disabled pilgrims during Ramadan, a short-term golf car rental service was launched on the roof of the Mecca Mosque .

Saudi Arabia's General Directorate for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina has launched "intelligent" golf carts to perform the Tawaf (circumvention of the Kaaba) ritual, the Saudi Gazette reported.

In the month of Ramadan, which coincides with the peak season of the Umrah pilgrimage, a short-term golf car rental service has been launched on the roof of the Makkah Mosque in order to facilitate the elderly and disabled pilgrims.

According to the administration, the location of the golf car can be reached through the Ajad escalator entrances and the elevators at the King Abdulaziz Gate. Golf cars operates daily from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM local time .

Golf carts are available for circumambulation purposes only and cost 25 riyals (around $6.67) per person. There are 50 golf carts, each for 10 passengers, for pilgrims to circumambulate.
