At the meeting of the Fatwa Panel under the Council of Muftis of Turkic States in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, it was agreed to study the problematic issues of family, marriage and divorce in Turkic states and develop a collective fatwa. This proposal was put forward by the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the 5th meeting of the Council of Muftis of the Turkic States, which is being held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, the 1st international roundtable discussion of the Fatwa panel under this structure was held on the topic "The Turkish world: methodology and specific features of fatwa issuance". This was reported by the press service of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan.

"At the end of the dialogue, at the suggestion of the Uzbek side, it was agreed that this committee will study the problematic issues of family, marriage and separation in Turkic countries and develop a collective fatwa," the report says.

Also, during the roundtable discussion, the guidelines of the Fatwa Committee under the Council of Muftis of the Organization of Turkic States and the documents on the consideration of traditions that do not contradict Islamic evidence were discussed.

The participants of the meeting were informed about the activities of the Fatwa Center under the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan, and the book "Collection of Fatwas" published by the center was presented.

It was reported that representatives of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan offered to translate the book "Collection of Fatwas" into Turkish.

This Fatwa Committee was formed at the IV meeting of the Council of Muftis of Turkic States held in Tashkent on November 25, 2023, at the suggestion of the Chairman of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliqnazar.
