On May 29-30, 2024, a meeting of experts on the ePermit project (electronic permit system) in the Turkish region was held in Istanbul.

Officials and IT-experts of TDT member states and Turkmenistan's transport ministries took part in the event, which was organized in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkish States (TTO) and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

The parties exchanged views on the latest developments within the Transport Communications Program and Action Program for 2023-2026.

The ePermit initiative is a pioneering effort to digitize transportation and logistics, which will reduce transit times and costs, increasing the region's competitiveness.

Experts paid attention to the instructions of the heads of state at the Astana summit. The presidents expressed their satisfaction with the successful start of the project between Turkey and Uzbekistan and called for its implementation in other participating countries.

After the meeting, the parties discussed and approved the Principles of ePermit project implementation, as well as issues of integration of national systems and the next stages of project implementation.
