The Afghan government supports the decision of the Kazakh authorities to remove the movement from the list of terrorist organizations and intends to expand economic cooperation with Astana. This was announced in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan welcomes the decision of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasim-Jomart Tokaev, to remove the Taliban movement from the list of banned groups," said Abdul Qahhor Balkhi, the official representative of the Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the page of the X social network.

"Kazakhstan is an important trade and transit partner of Afghanistan in the region, and this decision paves the way for the development of bilateral relations and increased economic cooperation, which will benefit both countries," the text reads.

Let us remind you that on June 3 of this year, the president of Kazakhstan said that the republic removed the Taliban from the list of terrorists in order to develop economic cooperation with Afghanistan. According to Tokaev, one of the strategic tasks at the current stage is to actively involve Kabul in interregional relations. At the same time, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Aybek Smadiyarov, announced the decision to remove the Astana Taliban from the list of banned organizations in December 2023.
