Putin signed a law simplifying the acquisition of Russian citizenship for Kazakhs.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made it easier for citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Moldova to receive Russian citizenship. The relevant decree was published on the official legal information portal on Monday, December 18.

According to the decree, citizens of these countries will be able to apply for Russian citizenship without the condition of living in the territory of the Russian Federation for five years. They are also exempted from tests on knowledge of the country's history and laws.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian citizenship has been revoked for committing criminal offenses and evading military registration.
