"10,587 people were rescued and evacuated in Turkestan, Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Ulitau and Abay regions, including 5,101 children. There are 5,497 people in temporary accommodation centers," said the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

On March 30, the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev held a meeting regarding the emergency situation caused by floods in the country.
At the meeting, Tokaev apologized to the citizens affected by the flood. According to the results of the meeting, First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, Minister of Water Management and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Atyrau Region Governor Serik Shapkenov, Akmola Region Governor Marat Akhmetzhanov, Almaty Region Governor Marat Sulta Naziev , Pavlodar Region Governor Asain Baikhanov and Abay Region Governor Nurlan Urankhaev was severely reprimanded.

Based on the current situation, the government of Kazakhstan has imposed traffic restrictions on some sections of the Kazakh-Russian border.
"Due to severe flooding in Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Abay and Kostanay regions, traffic restrictions may be imposed on national and international highways on the Kazakhstan-Russia border ," the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan reported.
Due to traffic jams in front of checkpoints, drivers were advised to correct their routes.
