The first congress of movements against French colonialism was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan . It was attended by about 20 leaders of political parties and movements fighting for the independence of Corsica, Melanesia, Polynesia, the group of Caribbean and Antilles islands that suffered from French colonialism, as well as representatives of two Dutch colonies.

On July 17-18, the first congress of movements against French colonialism was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

About 20 leaders of political parties and movements fighting for the independence of Corsica, Melanesia, Polynesia, the group of Caribbean and Antilles islands that suffered from French colonialism, as well as representatives of two Dutch colonies took part in it .

According to the results of the congress, the declaration on the establishment of the International Liberation Front was signed and its charter was approved.

The document condemns the policies of racism and repression, particularly the crimes committed by the French government in New Caledonia and other colonial territories.

The establishment of the International Liberation Front was aimed at forming a centralized platform against French colonialism. The participants of the congress decided to unite more closely in the struggle for independence, as well as to coordinate their efforts to win over French colonialism and achieve independence.

The front will be open to members of other colonial territories. Its future activities include developing a decolonization strategy, action plan and agenda and presenting them to international organizations.
