FETO leader, preacher Fethullah Gülen, whom Turkey accuses of being the organizer of the July 2016 coup attempt, died at the age of 83 in one of the hospitals in the US state of Pennsylvania. Ankara has repeatedly demanded the extradition of Gulen from its NATO ally, the United States.

Fethullah Gülen, the leader of FETO, declared a terrorist organization in Turkey, died in the United States. This was reported by the Hercules portal close to FETO.

83-year-old Gulen has been living in the United States since 1999. Information about his death was also confirmed by his nephew Ebusseme Gülen, CNN Türk reported. It was reported that Fethullah Gulen died on October 20 in a clinic in Pennsylvania.

The Turkish government accuses Gülen of attempting a coup d'état in July 2016. More than 250 people were killed and 2,200 were injured as a result of the conflict that lasted for two days.

Ankara has repeatedly demanded the extradition of Gulen from its NATO ally, the United States, and has also said it will pursue FETO supporters until the last one is brought to justice. Operations against Gulen's supporters are regularly conducted in Turkey.
