Ukrainian troops attacked the Russian military in the Kursk region: the losses are huge
Russian military telegram channels wrote about the defeat of a military convoy in the Kursk region on Friday. The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not comment on the situation.
On Friday evening, videos showing the consequences of an attack on a Russian military convoy near Rilsk in the Kursk region appeared on Telegram channels. A day ago, military bloggers reported that the armed forces of Ukraine may advance in the direction of this city.
In the released footage, a convoy of at least 15 military vehicles can be seen on fire along the highway.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Ukrainian side did not officially comment on the news about the destruction of the convoy.
"Harbiy Informant" Telegram channel claims that a convoy of military trucks was attacked by HIMARS missiles on the night of August 9.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced earlier that a convoy of BM-21 "Grad" jet mass-fire system, artillery installations, tanks, heavy chain vehicles, "Ural" and "KamAZ" vehicles was sent to the combat zones in the Kursk region.
Commenting on the fighting in the Kursk region, the Ministry of Defense reiterated that the army continues to repulse the invasion attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On Wednesday, Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov informed Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russian troops were halting the offensive and pushing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the border, but social media posts and videos suggest Russia is still struggling to achieve that goal.
The BBC, which examined the footage, said the convoy was attacked near the village of Oktyabrskoe, 35 kilometers from the nearest border crossing.
Independent researchers counted 14 crashed trucks in the video, some of which showed the bodies of dead soldiers in the back. The exact number of casualties is unknown.
According to assumptions, the strike was carried out from the HIMARS missile system. Since the soldiers did not ride in armored vehicles, but in ordinary tented Ural and Kamaz trucks, their chances of survival were slim.
Regardless, some war bloggers are calling for the commanders who ordered such dense convoys of soldiers to be court-martialed in a combat zone.
