As of July 1 of this year, the inflow of foreign capital to Tajikistan amounted to 1.95 billion dollars, which is 45.9% more than the same period last year. The volume of foreign direct investments amounted to 153.9 million dollars, Asia-Plus reported, referring to the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan.

According to the committee, in the first half of 2024, 88 state investment projects with a total value of 4.65 billion dollars were implemented in the country.

According to the infographic provided by Asia-Plus, most of the direct foreign investments in the country - 67.8 million dollars from China, 50.8 million dollars from the USA, 14.3 million dollars from Russia. Turkey ($5.8 million) and Britain ($5.2 million) also invested in the Tajik economy.

The main part of the investments in the economy of Tajikistan (more than 40 percent) corresponds to the state budget, while in other countries of the region, foreign investments and the share of the population prevail, the report says.

The chairman of the committee, Sultan Rahimzoda, assured that Tajikistan is taking measures to correct the situation. According to him, one of the main mechanisms of capital attraction is the provision of investment opportunities of the country. For this purpose, 8 investment business forums were organized abroad during this period.

Another aspect of attracting additional investment to Tajikistan is mineral extraction. According to Sultan Rahimzoda, in order to increase investment in the field of mineral processing, the committee is helping producers to obtain a "green certificate".

" Thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, copper and aluminum processed in Tajikistan have already received a green certificate. In general, 10 of the 12 important minerals needed for the transition to a green economy and production have been found in Tajikistan, and 6 of them are being processed. There are great opportunities in this direction, we will try to use them effectively," concluded the chairman of the committee.

Sultan Rahimzoda added that one of the last three investment contracts was concluded with a Korean company, and the other two were with local companies. That is, Tajik companies have started investing in the country's economy.
