Students at Trinity College Dublin have ended a five-day protest after the university vowed to cut ties with Israeli companies.

"The trio will stop investing in Israeli companies that operate in the Palestinian territories and are on the UN blacklist," the university said in a statement.

Senior Dean Eoin O'Sullivan, who spoke to the students, thanked them for their participation.

It should be recalled that on May 3, protesters pitched tents and demanded the cessation of all relations with Israel, similar to actions in the United States, Europe and India, in response to Israel's war against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Unlike clashes in the US and other Western countries, where police have forcibly removed protesters from universities, there has been no attempt to quell the protests in Ireland.
