Tokaev: Astana intends to raise Kazakhstan-Tajikistan relations to a new level
President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Tajikistan on a state visit. In the bilateral negotiations, the issues of further expansion of political, economic and social relations between the countries and the increase of mutual trade relations to 2 billion dollars were discussed. "Our joint efforts to strengthen alliance relations will serve to ensure stable growth and stability in the entire Central Asian region," Toqaev said during the visit.
Relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are developing successfully in almost all directions. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Toqayev with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Dushanbe.
Tokayev, who came to Dushanbe on a state visit, at the Millat Palace (Taj. Q asri Millat) an official welcome ceremony was held.
The resident of Kazakhstan emphasized that he attaches great importance to regular high-level meetings, which serve as a solid basis for strengthening the multifaceted Kazakh-Tajik partnership .
"We are reliable allies. We highly appreciate Tajikistan's attitude towards Kazakhstan. But we cannot stop halfway, we must move forward. Therefore, the purpose of this visit is to give the most serious impetus to the development of our cooperation. Today, the Treaty on Union Relations will be signed. This document is of historical importance. Therefore, I believe that we will have a meaningful exchange of views on all issues of interest to us," the Kazakh leader said.
During the negotiations, cooperation in trade-economic, transit-transport, energy and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as digitalization, mutual partnership in the fields of agriculture and water management were discussed.
After the narrow meeting of the heads of state, extended negotiations continued with the participation of members of the official delegations.
"Our joint efforts to strengthen alliance relations will serve to ensure stable growth and stability in the entire Central Asian region," Toqaev said.
The resident of Kazakhstan noted that the main goal of the state visit to Tajikistan is to achieve the common goal of bringing the relations of friendship and mutual assistance between the Kazakh-Tajik peoples to a qualitatively new level.
"We aim to increase the volume of mutual trade to 2 billion dollars. I believe that there are opportunities to achieve this indicator," Toq aev said.
At the same time , the President of Tajikistan E. Momali Rahmon noted that the signing of the agreement on alliance relations will strengthen the quality of interstate cooperation in the long-term perspective.
"I am sure that it meets the basic interests of our peoples. Your visit today coincides with a number of parallel events. These are days of culture of Kazakhstan, days of Kazakh cinema, events with the participation of intellectuals, scientists, women, young people, entrepreneurs of the two countries. They became a demonstration of strong friendship, closeness, mutual solidarity and expansion of cooperation between our countries and peoples," said the head of Tajikistan.
