"Taliban" wants to develop tourism
In the last 2 years, the number of tourists visiting Afghanistan has increased 10 times. For example, in 2021, 691 foreign tourists visited this country, and in 2022, this figure will exceed 2,000 people. Last year, about 7,000 foreigners visited it. However, the development of tourism still faces a number of obstacles. The Taliban promised to remove these obstacles.
In 2021, 691 foreign tourists visited Afghanistan. In 2022, this figure will exceed 2,000 people. Last year, about 7,000 foreigners visited this country. The increase in the number of foreign tourists is due to the decrease in unrest in the country and the expansion of air travel.
The head of the Kabul Tourism Board, Mohammad Saeed, told the British Independent that China is the biggest market for foreign tourists.
"The reason tourists don't want to go to Afghanistan is because it's dangerous and they can be attacked there. The Japanese also told me about it. This puts us in a disadvantageous situation," said Said.
It is also true that Afghanistan has many challenges for tourists. In particular, obtaining a visa is difficult and expensive. Since the Taliban's return to power, many countries have severed ties with Afghanistan, and no country has yet recognized them as the country's legitimate rulers.
Saeed admitted that there are obstacles to the development of Afghan tourism and added that cooperation with relevant ministries has been established to overcome them.
