In Paris, Turkey will demonstrate its driverless armored car
Otokar, the leading manufacturer of military vehicles in the Turkish defense industry, will present its equipment at Eurosatory, one of the largest defense industry exhibitions in Europe, starting today in Paris. This was reported by TRT TV channel.
As it turns out, this armored vehicle of the company - ALPAR is the first driverless military vehicle presented by Turks abroad.
It has a maximum weight of 15 tons and thanks to the hybrid electric power, it is able to move without noise.
According to experts, ALPAR, presented last year in Turkey itself, will not be embarrassed even on the battlefield. Otokar has already put the armored vehicle through a series of engineering and qualification tests.
ALPAR is equipped with advanced traffic control systems and algorithms, it has the functions of patrolling from point A to point B, following the vehicle in front, and 2D and 3D mapping.
In addition, the autonomous vehicle can open fire on enemy or terrorist positions, destroy enemy equipment or objects with the help of basic weapons or guided missiles.
In addition, it is capable of intelligence and surveillance, patrolling, border control, carrying mini-unmanned vehicles and drones, and performing a number of important missions.
