Erdogan promised to end operations in Syria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Ankara intends to eliminate the threat of terrorism and ensure complete security on the border with Iraq by the summer, as well as to complete ongoing operations in Syria, TRT reports.

"We will fully guarantee the security of our border with Iraq until this summer, and we will definitely finish our unfinished business in Syria. Our goal is to give our children a Turkey that is completely free from the dark shadow of terrorism and has a bright future," said the Turkish leader during an iftar meal with a group of Turkish soldiers.

Erdogan emphasized that the Turkish government is providing all kinds of support to the soldiers to continue the hard fight against terrorist groups and will continue to do so.

At the same time, the president noted that the Turkish government has begun to see the results of its strategy to end terrorism at its initial stage both inside and outside the country. Erdogan noted that they have achieved success in using combat drones, local ammunition and national weapons to identify and destroy terrorists.

"As a result of our operations, we will not allow the rebirth of gangs of hired killers, who are now suffocated, cornered and on the verge of extinction, and become a burden on the people. Regardless of whose project it is, we will not allow the formation of a terrorist state on the southern borders," the politician assured.

Touching on the existing shortcomings of the global system, Erdoğan mentioned the past experience that clearly showed the ineffectiveness of international alliances and organizations in maintaining global peace. The head of Turkey emphasized the need to develop the local and national defense industry for the country's self-sufficiency.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized Turkey's commitment to protecting its borders and interests from threats both inside and outside its borders.
