160 women from Afghanistan are trained in medical universities in Uzbekistan. A memorandum in this regard was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and Qatar's Education Above All Foundation. The project is mainly financed by Qatar.

On September 9, a memorandum was signed in Doha between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan and the "Education above all" Foundation of Qatar, which provides for the education of Afghan women in Uzbekistan, the ministry's press service reports.

It is noted that within the framework of this agreement, it is planned to train 160 Afghan women in the fields of medicine in Uzbekistan's higher educational institutions. Training programs are conducted by Uzbek medical specialists.

Most of the costs of the project will be covered by the Qatari side. In particular, the fund will provide financial assistance in the amount of 2.2 million dollars for the education of Afghan women, housing and other necessary expenses.

"The program not only serves to increase professional skills of women, but also has a great impact on strengthening their contribution to the field of medicine in their homeland. The signing of the memorandum will bring the cooperation between the two countries to a new level and further strengthen the relations in the field of international education and medicine," the report said.

According to the Ministry, this agreement will not only strengthen the relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar, but also protect the rights of women in Afghanistan, expand their educational opportunities, and create an opportunity for self-confident medical professionals to emerge in the future.
