"As a result of a barbaric attack by enemy militants on the village of Sadovoe in the Holopristan district, the number of people killed has reached 22. At the same time, 15 people were injured, five of them are in serious condition," Saldo wrote on his Telegram channel.
Saldo said the strike was carried out using French aerial bombs and US-made HIMARS shells.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the "Luhansk People's Republic" announced that six people were killed in the shelling of the city of Luhansk. The entrance to a residential building collapsed after a rocket hit the city. According to the latest information of the regional authorities, 60 people were injured, including four children.
"Work continued throughout the night at the site of yesterday's rocket attack on Luhansk. The rescuers took out the bodies of two more people from under the rubble. As of 8:00 a.m., 60 people were injured in the barbaric shelling of the peaceful city. The rescue operation is ongoing," Leonid Pasechnik, the "leader" of the region, wrote on his Telegram channel.
He previously reported that thirty-three apartment buildings, two schools, three kindergartens and one college were damaged in Lugansk shelling.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that the residential areas of Luhansk city were hit by five US-made ATASMS missiles.
"Four American missiles were shot down by Russian air defense systems. One rocket hit two residential buildings. As a result, according to preliminary information, more than 20 civilians, including children, were injured," the report said.
In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, condemned the rocket attacks on Luhansk and Kherson regions.
"The whole world community must understand that these are pre-planned and carefully prepared terrorist acts of intimidation. NATO's handwriting is clear. As we mentioned earlier, we are well aware that the flight missions of long-range missiles, including ATASMS, are being formed with the direct participation of American, British and other Western experts," the diplomat said.
Zakharova said that there is no doubt that those who took part in the attacks will be inevitably and appropriately punished.
Ukraine's Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions were illegally annexed by a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 30, 2022.
